THE HIDDEN DRUID’S TEMPLE

The hidden druid’s temple is found in the swinton estate Ilton 3 Miles south-west of Masham in North Yorkshire.

This is my second visit to this special place, I have always referred to it as a “hidden gem” of North Yorkshire. I originally saw it pop up as a place of interest on google maps when I was looking for somewhere to go a couple of year ago.

On my first visit to The Druids Temple I was overwhelmed and in awe, it is truly a special place to visit.

Fun Facts

The Druids Temple was built in the late 1700’s by William Danby as a replica of Stone Henge

It is said that a hermit lived there for many years ( Unfortunately I couldn’t find the hermit to take a picture of it 😉 )

Wait! Maybe I did?

Once you arrive at The Swinton Estate  car park, Walk back up the gravel road you just drove down

Once at the top of the road turn to the left and follow the sign for The Druids Temple

Who are these hermits?

While I was exploring around and taking photos  came across a group of people ( I don’t think they were hermits but…….  You never know these days ;))

Maybe you know them or you are one of these guys, check them out on the pic I took of them.
